With over seven years' experience designing and building intelligent traffic visibility products in the U.S., Gigamon serves the vertical market leaders of the Fortune 1000 and has an install base spanning 40 countries.

All effective network security and monitoring begins with visibility to your traffic, and at 10G or higher speeds, the tools that provide these functions become less efficient, limiting visibility. As users demand more bandwidth and faster operating speeds, networks are being forced to adopt faster technologies to keep up. GigaVUE-HD8 appliances are high-density intelligent traffic visibility nodes that replicate and filter network traffic to monitoring and security tools. It is first in category to break the terabit backplane barrier, and support thousands of map rules at 10G+ line rates. Featuring a revolutionary non-blocking 1.024Tbps backplane, GigaVUE-HD8 appliances can handle speeds of 10G and beyond, with the ability to keep up as future industry trends dictate. The 14U high rack-mountable unit is a configurable component-based system with Telco-grade hot-pluggable line cards and power supplies. It introduces the industry's highest density line cards, and a powerful CLI for controlling up to (16) 40G and (192) 10G ports, or (352) 1G and (32) 10G ports in maximum configurations. The GigaVUE-HD8 appliances address key emerging issues within today's faster speed networks. Without the GigaVUE-HD8 device, visibility and data access in higher speed networks, such as Telco 4G LTE, and Banking data center deployments, will be virtually impossible to secure and maintain. Its next-generation architecture makes these critical capabilities possible in today's 1G and 10G network environments, as well as intelligent data access at the faster line-rate speeds that will become common place in the near future. GigaVUE-HD8 appliances will future-proof the data centers of today for the speeds of tomorrow.

Effective network monitoring and security begins with a properly constructed Visibility Fabric at 1Gb, 10Gb or 40Gb. Link aggregation is beneficial to ensure multiple lower utilized segments are combined into higher utilization Visibility Fabric ports. Many of the 10Gb links that are running in Enterprise networks are averaging only 2-5% utilization. The GigaVUE-TA1 Traffic Aggregation node was designed for networks that have a multitude of low-utilization 10Gb links and need to aggregate traffic into the Visibility Fabric. The GigaVUE-TA1 node aggregates many ports of data together prior to feeding the aggregated traffic into either a GigaVUE G or H Series product where sophisticated Flow Mapping filters create a powerful Visibility Fabric. Multiple 10Gb links can be aggregated into a single 10Gb link if the utilization is low, or a 40G link for segments with higher utilization. The low profile 1RU design is intended to be deployed at the top of rack or end of row in data centers. The system ships standard with 24 x 10Gb SFP+ ports, and can optionally be upgraded by enabling a further 24 ports of 10Gb and 4 QSFP+ ports of 40Gb. The system has hot-swap dual fan-trays as standard, and a single power supply. A second power supply can be added to provide redundant power capability. Both AC and DC power is available.
The GigaVUE-2404 is a mid-density Traffic Visibility Node for 10G networks. Housed in a low profile 2U chassis, the GigaVUE-2404 aggregates, filters and replicates traffic flows across multiple passive security and monitoring tools. It is a powerful 10G network aggregator capable of full line rate performance.

The modular design allows network managers to deploy the exact number of ports necessary to fit their requirements.

The base chassis houses eight 10 GigE ports and four 1G ports and scales to a maximum of twenty-four 10G ports.

Multiple GigaVUE-2404 nodes can be stacked together or with existing GigaVUE-420 devices into a much bigger virtual GigaVUE® fabric of over 200 ports, running in either a master-slave or star configuration. GigaVUE-2404 Traffic Visibility Nodes are designed for compatibility with traffic coming from the GigaVUE-420.

The GigaVUE-2404 is also available
with NEBS certification.
The GigaVUE-420 Traffic Visibility Network Node supports 10/100/1000 & 10Gig Ethernet. GigaVUE-420 aggregates, filters, and replicates traffic flows across multiple security and monitoring tools. Hardware filters based on any pattern in the 128-byte header may be enabled to eliminate unwanted packets. The GigVUE-420 modular design allows network professionals to deploy the exact number of ports necessary to fit their requirements. The GigaVUE-420 enables the Traffic Visibility Network to unobtrusively monitor the production network. The GigaVUE-420 provides out-of-band ports for passive monitoring tools. Tools may be added without affecting the network, at any hour without configuration management review. Multiple GigaVUE-420 systems can be stacked to create a 222 port Traffic Visibility Fabric. All ports can be configured as network or tool ports.
The GigaVUE-212 is an entry level Traffic Visibility Node which aggregates, multicasts, filters and divides traffic flows across multiple passive monitoring tools at a fraction of the cost of similar devices. Many security tools need to be connected inline on production networks to realize their full value. This means that all traffic must flow from the network segment through the tool and then back onto the production network. This introduces various operational risks and challenges including the impact of a failure of the inline device and the potential performance degradation as the volume of traffic and speed of the network increases. A 10Gb stream of traffic will quickly render a 1Gb inline device over-subscribed and potentially obsolete. Gigamon developed the G-SECURE-0216 Inline Traffic Distribution Node to specifically address these two challenges, availability and performance. Traffic enters the G-SECURE-0216 10Gb ingress port and then, with powerful distribution logic and intelligence, the traffic is distributed to up to eight 1Gb inline devices such as an IPS or firewall. The integration of both session-based and application-based intelligence allows Security teams to distribute loads based upon IP or MAC addresses as well as by application port number. The G-SECURE-0216 is available in both single-mode and multimode fiber configurations, and the ingress supports both 1Gb as well as 10Gb connections. The G-SECURE-0216 offers both active and passive bypass protection for inline tools, so that in the event of a failure or power outage, the network connectivity is maintained resulting in no downtime. Customizable heartbeat packets can be sent to attached inline security tools to monitor for availability.
With the modular G-TAP® system, you can tap up to 8 optical uplinks. G-TAP is the highest density and most economical optical tapping system in the industry.

The modular G-TAP design allows management of individual TAPs/links without effecting other TAPs/links and enabling a mixture of 10G and 1G, or singlemode and multimode in the same chassis. G-TAP is totally photonic for absolute fault tolerance.

The external G-TAP system compliments the Gigamon industry leading GigaVUE Traffic Visibility Nodes, combining high TAP density, optimal use of rack space and value-pricing to create a flexible, one-stop connectivity solution.
The G-TAP A Series is a line of network TAPs designed with the Gigamon "Always On" architecture. This one-of-a-kind architecture eliminates network link downtime on network connections through the use of up to four power sources, including PoE, AC, DC, and on-board battery backup. While using any of the primary forms of power (PoE, AC, DC), the G-TAP A Series unique design constantly charges the integrated backup battery, which allows it to assume power load in the event of primary power failure. This eliminates link downtime associated to link renegotiation on the end devices connected to the TAP.

G-TAP A Series devices also provide intelligent management capabilities that monitor link states of connected devices, and the power state of all forms of power. In the event that primary power is lost, SNMP traps alert users that the TAP is utilizing the backup battery. The SNMP traps are re-triggered as battery levels drop to ensure rapid alert and renewal of the primary power source, eliminating further network downtime. The G-TAP A Series' intelligent monitoring also offers an added level of network security to your network, by providing SNMP trap alerts when existing links are removed, or when new links are added.
