Paul is the CEO of Gigamon, and was previously the Vice President of Marketing and Product Management. Paul is a networking and high tech industry veteran who joined Gigamon from Extreme Networks where he held numerous executive positions including Chief Marketing Officer, Vice President and General Manager for the Volume Products Group, and Chief Information Officer. Paul has held a broad range of leadership positions in marketing, product development, business management, and information technology within a range of organizations including Extreme Networks, myCFO, Inc., JDS Uniphase, Netscape Communications, and Sun Microsystems.

Patrick Leong

Patrick Leong

CTO (Co-Founder)

Patrick is the key designer of a series of successful telecom and network analyzer products that have generated substantial revenues over the years. Prior to joining Gigamon, he was a Principal Engineer at Ciena (starting with Cyras before it was acquired), where he lead the engineering efforts in developing the company’s metro data products. Patrick also performed technical due diligence for Ciena in acquisition and partnering. Before Ciena, Patrick was the Manager of High Speed Products at the Sniffer Division of Network Associates, where he was in charge of the development of WAN and Gigabit Ethernet Sniffers. A physicist by training, Patrick understands a broad range of technologies and has a track record of taking products from inception to market in a timely manner. Patrick holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Columbia University and has more than 10 patents in his name.

Duston Williams

CFO

Over the past three decades, Williams has served in top finance and administration roles at both private and public companies. Prior to joining Gigamon, Williams served as Chief Financial Officer for SandForce, Inc., through its sale to LSI in January 2012. He has also served as the CFO for multiple technology companies including Infinera Corporation which he led to a successful IPO in 2007, Maxtor Corporation, Aruba Wireless Networks, Rhapsody Networks, and Western Digital Corporation. During his career, Williams has been recognized as a trusted advisor to the CEO supporting companies during times of significant growth.

Shehzad Merchant

Shehzad Merchant

Chief Strategy Officer

Shehzad Merchant serves as our Chief Strategy Officer bringing over 20 years of experience in the high-tech industry. Prior to joining Gigamon, Merchant served as the CTO at Extreme Networks, and is the author of several networking and communications patents. He is a frequent speaker at various industry events including Interop and Open Networking Summit, and has been engaged with many standards bodies including the IEEE, IETF and ONF. Prior to Extreme Networks, he was the co-founder and VP of Products at Polytime Systems, following on from various senior architectural and research roles at Allied Telesyn, Nevis Networks and SRI. He holds a Masters Degree in Computer Engineering from USC and an Electronic Engineering degree from the University of Mumbai.

Peter Finter

Peter Finter

Finter brings more than 20 years of experience in the networking industry. Prior to joining Gigamon, Finter served as Vice President of Marketing for Juniper Networks, leading their Worldwide Field Demand Center. He previously led their Americas Marketing and Global Marketing Operations teams. While at Nortel, he also held various Vice President positions, including Americas Marketing & Sales Operations, Global Marketing Strategy & Operations and EMEA Marketing. Finter started his career in Sales, initially with GEC Telecommunications and then BT. He is an Electrical Engineering graduate of Imperial College, London, and a Chartered Engineer.

Mike Hoffman

VP of Worldwide Sales

Mike specializes in data network analysis and monitoring. He has sold a variety of networking products as an independent Manufacturers Representative and as a Value Added Reseller. Before joining Gigamon, Mike was the Vice President of Enterprise Sales for MRV Communications. He pioneered a new sales structure that increased channel sales 158% and reduced average direct sale discounts by 29%. Mike’s leadership as Regional Director helped drive Fluke Networks from a promising division of Fluke Corporation to an over $500M standalone company. Mike served 8 years in the US Navy’s Advanced Electronics Field. After completing two tours in Operation Desert Storm, he was recognized by the Secretary of the Navy and was hand-selected for Instructor duty at the Navy’s Combat Systems Technical School. Mike holds a BA and MBA from Saint Mary’s College of California.

David de Simone

David de Simone

VP of Engineering and Worldwide Support

Dave de Simone is Vice President of Engineering and Worldwide Support at Gigamon and is responsible for development, delivery, and support of the complete GigaVUE® product line. Dave has more than 30 years of engineering, operations, and business development experience in computer systems, software, and networking technologies. Prior to joining Gigamon, Dave served in various capacities at Blue Coat Systems where he was responsible for Engineering, Product Management, and Product Marketing for all of Blue Coat, and was also responsible for Business Development, Worldwide Support, Manufacturing, and IT. Dave also held executive roles at Brocade where he oversaw the growth of the product line from a single storage switching platform to a family of switching products with value added software offerings. Mr. de Simone holds a B.S.E.E. degree from the University of California, Davis.

Paul Shinn

Paul Shinn

General Counsel

Paul Shinn is the General Counsel for Gigamon and is charged with managing legal issues that include contracts, governance, compliance, merger & acquisitions, employment, and litigation management. Prior to joining Gigamon, Shinn served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel of HP’s Enterprise Group, where he was responsible for driving legal strategy and support across multiple disciplines. He has also held senior legal roles in commercial and corporate, securities and mergers & acquisitions at HP. Prior to joining HP, Shinn was senior counsel at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Shinn received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and earned his J.D. from the Santa Clara University School of Law.
