Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Verify and maintain accurate standard costs for materials, labor, overhead and products.
  • Month-end close responsibilities include preparing inventory and COGS journal entries in AX, tracking inventory reserves, reconciling inventory accounts, warranty reserves and preparing inventory aging and turn analysis and Gross Margin analysis.
  • Analyze actual manufacturing and other related costs and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Hold meetings to discuss and review standard cost variances with stakeholders.
  • Key participant in quarterly physical inventory count. Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues.
  • Ensure that inventory is properly valued in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.  This includes working with the materials review board to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory
  • Assist with the establishment of warranty reserves, extended service costs and reporting.
  • Assist with the development and documentation of inventory controls and cost accounting policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties and operations analysis as required. 

Education / Experience

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Business, Finance, or equivalent. CPA, and Big 4 Accounting Experience a big plus.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in manufacturing with solid understanding of GAAP pertaining to inventory and cost of goods sold. Experience in Networking Industry is preferred.
  • Proficient use of MS Office applications, solid Excel.
  • Microsoft AX experiences a big plus.
